India’s master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar will be honoured by Cricket South Africa (CSA) in what is likely to be the legend’s swansong Test series in South Africa.
This was revealed by Chris Nenzani, the CSA president. Sachin Tendulkar is also expected to break another milestone in his illustrious career by featurng in his 200th Test during that tour.
Nenzani said, “We will definitely be honouring this icon of world cricket and we will announce plans after discussions with the BCCI and their national team management”.
Having scored more than 15,000 runs in Tests and with 51 hundreds to his credit, Sachin Tendulkar may announce his retirement following the series against South Africa.
He has already retired from IPL, ODIs and Twenty20s.
However, BCCI is yet to approve CSA's plan to host three Tests, seven ODIs and two T20 matches from November to January. The itinerary has been drawn as per ICC’s Future Tour Program.
“We are waiting to hear from the BCCI and will make an appropriate announcement in due course”, he added. The BCCI is reported to have reservations over this itinerary announced without consultations."
